Once the home of Vierk Supply, Co. this panoramic view from the
70's shows that not much has changed for this structure in the
last 35 years. The building currently houses a used car lot.
In 1999, Historic Centennial Neighborhood Association and other local
organizations, sponsored a charrette with the architecture design class
from Ball State University. The students from that class proposed this
structure as a suitable development in character with the historic buildings nearby.
Their vision supposed that this would make a fabulous impression as a gateway to the
city on the busy 3rd street parkway. The art drawing depicts a mixed use residential
and commercial planned development with off street parking in the rear and underneath.
