This italianate home built about 1870, retains many of the classical details including the cornice brackets and window lintels. The house, used as an apartment house for many years, changed ownership in 1999 and the new owner Robert A. Reason intends to live here.

From about 1898 to 1924, this was the home of Alva O. Reser(1859-1924). Mr. Reser was a teacher, school principal, stenographer, Tippecanoe Co. recorder, Indiana state legislator, lecturer, naturalist, and historian. Born in 1859, he was educated in Tippecanoe Co. and attended Purdue University. He won election to the state house as a Republican in 1899 and again in 1901. Mr. Reser died by his own hand in this home in 1924 at the age of 64.

   Before 1900, the address was 69 N. 7th St.
